The Vinalhaven Housing Initiative is devoted to creating year round affordable and sustainable housing for residents, workers, and elders, so that our island community may continue to thrive.
VHI is working to:

-Purchase property to construct new Affordable and Worker Housing

CREW QUARTERS​
While self-reliance is a defining feature of island life, it is the connection our sturdy hardworking ferries maintain with the mainland which makes living on the island possible.
In that same spirit, VHI's first project is to relocate the Ferry Crew Quarters, which was slated for demolition, to a property we are in the process of purchasing, to create affordable worker housing.
